Omnimed are pleased to share that in just 12 months, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) have hit the £2 million mark in their ‘Operation Airbase’ appeal a £3.6 million appeal to convert and equip a purpose-built Airbase and headquarters in Southampton, near Southampton Airport. With construction currently underway, this new, more central location will help secure the future of the service and enable them to reach people who need assistance most in the fastest possible time.
The move to Southampton means that HIOWAA’s highly skilled teams of doctors, pilots and paramedics will be able to reach almost every patient in the region within 10 minutes of take-off, compared to the 20 minutes or more it takes at present.
Keen to support local medical emergency care, Omnimed are enthusiastic sponsors of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service.
Michael said, “Providing social value is something that Omnimed have been doing long before the term became popular in dialogue surrounding businesses’ contributions to the wider community. We’ve demonstrated this by supporting our local Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance since 2014. This is just one way that Omnimed has long been demonstrating our ability to be a supplier who is ahead of the curve in taking our responsibilities towards social value seriously.”
Michael enthused, “I’m reassured to know that along with donations from other supporters, Omnimed have contributed to keeping this life-saving organisation going. Regular donations are key to ensuring the longevity of charitable organisations, which is why Omnimed are happy to support HIOWAA on an ongoing basis.”
Michael added, “I’m absolutely delighted that following years at their site in Thruxton, Andover, HIOWAA have purchased a new air base site in a more central location in Southampton, which will save critical minutes in reducing response times. Omnimed look forward to continuing to support this vital service for many years to come.”
