Omnimed are pleased to announce that after our ISO audit was completed in September, we were successfully re-accredited with ISO 13485:2016 [Medical devices | Quality management systems | Requirements for regulatory purposes].
ISO is the International Organization for Standardization and has enabled trade and cooperation between people and companies worldwide since 1946. By bringing global experts together to agree on the best way of doing things – from making a product to managing a process, the International Standards published by ISO serve to make lives easier, safer and better across the world.
Omnimed’s Supply Chain Analyst, Lisa Hatt is responsible for managing the audit and said “As we always like to be prepared, in May an internal audit took place with our internal auditor, Philip. He does a pre-audit to make sure all 23 procedures of the Quality Management Systems for ISO 13485: 2016 are adhered to. Philip advised on a few development areas and I’m pleased to say that the team all contributed towards improving those, enabling us to achieve our re-accreditation.”
Lisa added, “Alongside this, I have been working with our Supply Chain Assistant, Hope James, on achieving ISO 14001: 2015 for the Environmental Management System, which we hope to achieve in the next year. As our Green Endoscopy Champion, Hope’s role is critical in spearheading our efforts in running Omnimed in the most environmentally friendly way possible."
Supply Chain Assistant, Hope James said, “Knowing how important Green Endoscopy, our Carbon Reduction Plan and Evergreen Assessment are for being part of the NHS Supply Chain, I am very committed to working with Lisa to ensure Omnimed are fully compliant with their requirements and ensure we continue to develop as a sustainable supplier for both the NHS and private hospitals.”
Managing Director, Michael Morris added, “Knowing how important this accreditation is to our customers, I’m delighted that we’ve been re-accredited and can’t thank Lisa and Hope enough, as well as the rest of the Omnimed team in contributing to this achievement.”
