With just days to go, excitement is building here as the team gets ready for Endoport 2026 in Portsmouth. On taking a closer look at the programme, there are a number of sessions and topics we are particularly looking forward to. It is shaping up to be a strong few days of practical learning, innovation, and real-world discussion.
Innovation & New Devices
Innovation is a key focus for us at Omnimed, and on Day 1 (Thursday 26th March), the Innovation in Endoscopy session will feature a range of new devices and techniques, including single-use endoscopy from Ambu®.
Omnimed is proud to support Ambu® with a range of high-quality endoscopy accessories compatible with their scopes, helping provide reliable and practical solutions in line with evolving clinical needs.
Haemostasis
On Day 1 we also have the Parallel Symposium 1: Practical Skills session, which includes two focused blocks on haemostasis.
The session starts with Essentials in Clipping and Haemostasis which will cover both through-the-scope and over-the-scope techniques, and is followed by a dedicated haemostasis session, exploring monopolar, bipolar, and topical approaches.
These sessions, led by speakers including Dr Roser Vega, Dr Imdadur Rahman, Dr Fergus Chedgy, and Dr Sharmila Subramaniam, offer a practical look at techniques that are directly relevant to day-to-day endoscopy.
At Omnimed, we support these procedures with our range of haemoclips.
Foreign Body Retrieval
Closing the parallel symposium 1 is the Emergency Endoscopy Symposium, which includes a session on foreign body retrieval, led by Dr Gaius Longcroft-Wheaton.
This is a key area of clinical practice, and one where technique and equipment both play a critical role, particularly in time-sensitive situations.
At Omnimed, we offer a range of foreign body removal grasping forceps designed to provide a secure grip and dependable performance when it matters most.
ESD
ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection) features prominently in this year’s programme. On Day 2 (Friday 27th March), the session on the Future of ESD will explore techniques including pocket/tunnel ESD, traction (internal & external) ESD, saline immersion ESD led by Dr Noriko Suzuki, Dr Barbara Bastiaansen, Dr A Parra-Blanco, and Dr Ed Despott.
The panel discussion, featuring Endoport's very own Professor Pradeep Bhandari, who will be joined by Dr Sharmila Subramaniam and Dr Noriko Suzuki, will focus on indications, techniques, and decision-making.
There are also a number of ESD-related topics running throughout the programme, including ACI in ESD, high power jet-assisted ESD, underwater sealing of vessels during ESD (Prof Pradeep Bhandari), and a guide on rectal ESD.
With our new range of ESD Electrical Forceps, Cylindrical Type Tunnel Knives and Cylindrical Type Square Knives, it is an exciting area of innovation, and one we are following closely.
