Award Terms and Conditions

1. About the award

The Omnimed Sustainability Advocate of the Year Award celebrates people helping to make endoscopy more sustainable within UK hospitals.

The award is organised by Omnimed Limited, part of the MedScience Group.

2. Who can be nominated?

Nominees must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Work in a role connected with an endoscopy unit at a UK hospital
  • Have contributed to improving sustainability within endoscopy
  • Be willing and able to be publicly announced if they win
  • Obtain any necessary approval from their NHS Trust or employer

Nominees do not need to work for an Omnimed customer.

Omnimed employees and members of the judging panel cannot be nominated.

3. Who can submit a nomination?

You may nominate yourself or someone else.

Omnimed team members may nominate eligible professional contacts whose sustainability work they believe deserves recognition. They cannot nominate themselves, another Omnimed employee or a member of the judging panel.

There is no fee to enter and no purchase from Omnimed is required.

4. Nominating someone else

If you nominate someone else, you must:

  • Tell them that you are sharing their information with Omnimed
  • Provide them with a link to these terms and Omnimed’s privacy policy
  • Make sure the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge

Omnimed will contact anyone nominated by someone else before shortlisting them. This is to provide the relevant privacy information, confirm that they wish to participate and check whether they can obtain any necessary employer approval.

If the nominee does not wish to participate, their nomination will be withdrawn.

5. How to submit a nomination

Complete the online nomination form before the closing date.

Please explain what the nominee has done to make endoscopy more sustainable and why they deserve recognition.

Supporting photographs, documents, results or testimonials may be emailed to info@omnimed.co.uk. Please include the nominee’s name in the email subject line.

Do not submit patient-identifiable, confidential, commercially sensitive or inappropriate information.

The person submitting the nomination must have permission to share any photographs, testimonials, documents or other supporting materials provided.

6. Closing date

Nominations for the Omnimed Sustainability Advocate of the Year Award 2026 close at 11.59 pm on Friday 29th January 2027.

Late or incomplete nominations may not be considered.

7. Judging

Nominations will be reviewed by a judging panel. This may include representatives from Omnimed and the MedScience Group, a previous award winner and an independent healthcare sustainability professional.

Nominations will be judged on:

  • Environmental benefit
  • Practical results
  • Innovation and resourcefulness
  • Collaboration and engagement
  • Whether the approach could help other endoscopy units
  • The nominee’s personal commitment to sustainability

Small, everyday improvements will be considered alongside larger projects. Detailed carbon calculations are not required.

Judges must declare any connection to a nominee. A judge will not assess a nomination where there is a conflict of interest.

Nominations submitted by Omnimed team members will be assessed in the same way as all other nominations and will not receive preferential treatment.

The judging panel’s decision is final.

8. Number of entries and finalists

There is no guaranteed minimum number of finalists. Omnimed may select up to three finalists, depending on the number and standard of eligible nominations received.

If no suitable nominations are received, or there are too few entries to run a fair and credible judging process, Omnimed may:

  • Extend or reopen the nomination period
  • Invite further nominations from eligible individuals or Omnimed team members
  • Decide not to present the award that year

Up to three finalists for the Omnimed Sustainability Advocate of the Year Award 2026 will be contacted in early February 2027 before any public announcement is made.

If a finalist cannot be contacted, does not wish to participate or cannot obtain any necessary employer approval, Omnimed may select another finalist.

9. The winner

One overall winner will be selected from the eligible finalists.

The winner will receive:

  • The Omnimed Sustainability Advocate of the Year trophy
  • A certificate of recognition
  • A £100 donation to an approved UK environmental charity chosen by the winner from Omnimed’s selected list
  • Recognition on the Omnimed website, emails and social media
  • Recognition for their hospital or endoscopy unit
  • An award presentation at their hospital or endoscopy unit

The charity donation will be paid directly to the charity. It cannot be paid to the winner and there is no cash alternative.

The award and charity donation cannot be transferred to another person.

10. Employer approval

Nominees are responsible for checking their NHS Trust or employer’s policies and obtaining any approval needed to participate in the award.

Receipt of the award, including the trophy, presentation, photography, publicity and any refreshments, is subject to the policies and approval of the nominee’s NHS Trust or employer.

The award is not connected with any purchasing or procurement decision. No purchase from Omnimed is required and being an Omnimed customer will not influence the judging process.

11. Publicity and winner eligibility

To be eligible to receive the award, nominees must be willing and able to have their name, role, organisation and reason for winning publicly announced by Omnimed.

Before confirming the final result, Omnimed will check that the selected winner is willing to be announced and has obtained any necessary approval from their NHS Trust or employer.

If the selected winner does not wish to be publicly announced or cannot obtain the necessary employer approval, the judging panel may select another eligible winner.

Any wider publicity, including photographs, interviews, videos and case studies, will be discussed separately with the winner and, where required, their employer.

Where the necessary permissions and employer approvals have been obtained, Omnimed may refer to the winner in publicity connected with the award and its sustainability work, including its Green Endoscopy and Greener Together campaigns and marketing relating to Greener NHS and sustainability in endoscopy.

12. Personal information

Omnimed Limited, part of the MedScience Group, will handle personal information submitted in connection with the award in accordance with its privacy policy.

Information may be shared where necessary with members of the judging panel, relevant MedScience Group personnel, service providers helping to administer the award and the nominee’s NHS Trust or employer.

Only the information reasonably needed to administer, judge and promote the award will be shared.

Personal information will not be sold or used for unrelated marketing.

13. Accuracy and eligibility checks

Omnimed may contact the nominator, nominee or nominee’s employer to:

  • Check the information provided
  • Confirm the nominee’s eligibility
  • Confirm that the nominee wishes to participate
  • Obtain or confirm any necessary employer approval

Omnimed may reject or withdraw a nomination containing false, misleading, confidential, commercially sensitive, patient-identifiable or inappropriate information.

14. Changes to the award

If circumstances outside Omnimed’s reasonable control make it necessary, Omnimed may change, extend, postpone or cancel the award.

Any important changes will be published on the Omnimed website.

15. Accepting these terms

By submitting a nomination, you confirm that:

  • The information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • You have not included confidential, commercially sensitive or patient-identifiable information
  • You have permission to share any supporting materials submitted
  • If nominating someone else, you have told them that you are sharing their information with Omnimed
  • You have read and accepted these award terms
  • You have read Omnimed’s privacy policy
