Omnimed Presents at EAEAG Study Day

Omnimed Presents at EAEAG Study Day

On Saturday 1st November Omnimed attended the East Anglia Endoscopy Associates Group (EAEAG) Study Day held at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Organised by EAEAG, the event is an education group for nurses working within endoscopy, and aimed to provide the latest updates and trends in the field of endoscopy.

Omnimed's Commercial Manager, John Wood, Area Sales Consultant for South East England and London, Clive Waters, Business Development Assistant, Callum Murphy and Eco Supply Chain Assistant, Ben Lonsdale were all in attendance, meaning delegates could always find a member of the team to approach with any questions about Omnimed’s products and services.

John Wood said, “It was great to have so many of the Omnimed team at the event, particularly some of our newer members such as Callum and Ben.”

Callum Murphy added, “This was the first event of this kind that I have attended and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In particular, I embraced the opportunity to engage with so many endoscopy Matrons and Unit Managers and discuss Omnimed’s products and services. One thing I learned from these conversations is that many clinical staff were not aware that a pre-mixed submucosal lifting solution was actually available, so naturally I took this opportunity to tell them about Blue Eye™ - Omnimed’s ready-to-use pre-mixed submucosal injection agent. Clinical staff were keen to discover it’s many advantages over traditional saline solutions. In particular, the 45 minutes of rigidity it offers, which is twice that of saline, reducing the risk of complications.”

Green endoscopy was also a hot topic of conversation, with many clinical staff expressing interest in finding out more about what help is available from Omnimed to help them meet Green Endoscopy and Greener NHS goals.

Callum enthused, “I spoke with many nurses and Unit Managers about Ominmed’s Greener Together presentation, which many UK hospitals have already received as part of one of their on-site study days and am pleased to say that we received plenty of interest in the sessions. I also attended a very interesting training session on pill capsule endoscopy which certainly piqued my interest. Finally, I can’t neglect to mention that an added bonus was spending time with John, Clive and Ben and of course, the delicious food provided!

During the study day, attendees heard from a fantastic line up of speakers on various topics related to endoscopy, and it was a prime opportunity to meet with endoscopy nurses and other staff involved in endoscopy, many of whom are our much valued customers.

After discussing the event with John, Clive, Callum and Ben, Omnimed's Managing Director, Michael Morris summed up the main take aways, "It was great to have so many of the Omnimed team at the event as having attended EAEAG several times in the past, we know how valuable it is, particularly with regards to the educational sessions and of course the conversations that take place with staff involved in endoscopy. Those conversations help Omnimed stay informed on what endoscopy units need, which of course, feeds into the products and services we provide."

Omnimed would like to say a very BIG thank you to everyone involved in making EAEAG happen, particularly EAEAG for organising the study day and to Milton Keynes University Hospital for hosting such an informative and inspiring event. The Omnimed team in attendance found it to be a very informative event that provided a lot of useful information to help us support endoscopy units across the UK.
